Amber was my first ever golden retriever, and dig, she loved running free over the acres of farm
land, she loves having a fuss made of her, and rabbits were her fave animal.

Into Spirit
I see you grieve,
I feel you grieve
But I am with you.
And will stay, til you laugh
When remembering the fun
We had in all those years.
Thank you for the courage to let me go,
No more weary, no more pain,
I am with you, you will feel me
My cold nose, my waving tail.
You will see my smiling mouth and shining fur,
You will hear my happy voice.
I can run now, I can play now
With all my family and my friends.
But I will love you and I will watch you
Til we meet again.
A Woodland Place
A woodland place full of dreams,
A mossed bank and bluebells,
Grey ashes floating down
Sinking into browned rich earth,
Spirit soft bodies,
Happy eyes waving tails
Cold noses pressed into our hands
There and all around, easing grief,
In soft warm, warm spring air.

From time to time people tell me, "Lighten up, it's just a dog," or, "That's a lot of money for just a dog." They don't understand the distance traveled, the time spent or the costs involved for "just a dog."
Some of my proudest moments have come about with "just a dog."
Many hours have passed and my only company was "just a dog," but I did not once feel slighted.
Some of my saddest moments have been brought about by "just a dog," and, in those days of darkness, the gentle touch of "just a dog" gave me comfort and reason to overcome the day.
If you, too, think it's "just a dog," then you will probably understand phases like "just a friend," "just a sunrise," or "just a promise."
"Just a dog" brings into my life the very essence of friendship, trust, and pure unbridled joy.
"Just a dog" brings out the compassion and patience that makes me a better person.
Because of "just a dog" I will rise early, take long walks and look longingly to the future.
So for me, and folks like me, it's not "just a dog" but an embodiment of all the hopes and dreams of the future, the fond memories of the past and the pure joy of the moment.
"Just a dog" brings out what's good in me and diverts my thoughts away from myself and the worries of the day.
I hope that someday they can understand that it's not "just a dog" but the thing that gives me humanity and keeps me from being "just a human."
So the next time you hear the phrase "just a dog." just smile....because they "just don't understand."

"Paw Prints In The Sand"
By Phyllis Ann Min
With my pal gone
My side is bare
Just looking down
She is not there.
A heavy heart,
A saddened soul
A weight of passage
Tears untold.
Now all alone
I feel the space
Where oft my friend
Would lick my face.
Yet life goes on.
God’s outstretched hand
Sends hope through paw prints
In the sand.
A Parting Prayer
Dear Lord, Please open your gates and call St Francis
to come and escort this beloved companion
across the Rainbow Bridge.
Assign her a place of honor,
for she has been a faithful servant
and has always tried to please me.
Bless the hands that send her to you,
For they do so in love and compassion
freeing her from pain and suffering.
Grant me the strength not to dwell on my loss.
Help me remember the details of her life with the love she has shown me
And grant me the courage to honor her by sharing these memories with others.
Let her remember me well
Let her know I will always love her
And when it is my time to pass over into your paradise
Please allow her to accompany those that will bring me home.
Thank You Lord
For the gift of her companionship
and the time we've had together.
And Thank You Lord
For granting me the strength
To give her to you now.
Peace.

In Memory of Spirit Helpers♥♥♥
In Memory of all our pets
who we know are more than just furry friends.
With the knowing look they tell us♥
that they are reading our thoughts,
feeling our pain,
loving us unconditionally.♥
They force us to be present,
to pay attention,
these deliverers of messages.♥
For all our friends in the Animal tribe,
here on the Good Red Road,
and those who have taken the Blue Road of Spirit,
Thank you;♥
And one day, when it comes time for us to drop our robe and take that Journey,
there they will be, waiting faithfully to greet us once again.♥

FOREVER AMBER
Take me to the bridge
Where the fresh clear waters flow
Take me to the sunshine
Show me the virgin snow
Take me to a new place
Where I can feel no pain
My body be renewed, reborn
My spirit whole again
You have loved me endlessly
And I have loved you so
You gave me more than I could ask
It breaks my heart to go
But it's time for me to leave your side
Time for my spirit to soar
For this moment I have waited all my life
Freedom for evermore
Please don't be sad, don't weep for me
I have found so many friends
Take comfort in my angel's wings
May they help your broken heart mend
I love you so, I always have
You know I always will
I miss you too, our life, our love
But I'll be waiting still
I'll be here when you come to join me
I'll wait through all the years
But please don't rush... take time, enjoy,
Don't live your life in tears.
I can't come down to lick them dry
The way I used to do
So weep no more, and smile for me
For I'm smiling down on you.
I thank you from my furry soul
for what you have done for me
You helped me cross an ancient bridge
And I made it across safely.
I was welcomed by so many friends
Who knew my name and yours
They'd heard us mentioned in so many prayers
And ran to meet me at the door.
I want to tell you of these new wonders
But I don't want to spoil the surprise
So go in peace, in love, and in warmth,
Till we see each others eyes.
Goodbye dear friend, but not forever,
Just for a little while
Be strong for me and for the others
...And don't forget that smile!!!

THERE IS A NEW STAR SHINING IN THE SKY TONIGHT...
by Sarah Hartwell
There is an old belief that the stars shining in the night sky are the
spirits of those who have died. They have shed their earthly bodies and
exchanged them for bodies made of light; thousands upon thousands of our
dear departed friends all promoted to glory in the night sky. There is
another saying that the brightest flame burns the shortest.
My friend, you were the brightest star in my own universe. While I burn
on, my flame dimmed by grief and despair at your passing, the stars are
watching me. They are too far away for me to touch, just as you have
gone somewhere I cannot follow until my own star-time comes. They
cannot be held close for comfort, just as I can no longer hold you
close, though I held you close to comfort you in your final hours. We
were together for such a short time, but the stars will burn forever.
One day I will grow tired of this earthbound body, my own star-time will
come and my spirit will soar into the sky to burn with all those friends
who have gone before me. On the inky cloth of space we will be reunited
in constellations of joy. Until then, my flame burns low and dim and
cold without you. Through my tears I look upwards to see if you are
watching me and what do I see?
There is a new star shining in the sky tonight
Beautiful Amber ♥♥♥
Now you sit at Heaven's Gate♥
Waggin' your tail, you patiently wait♥
Until the time we meet again♥
When I have reached my journey's end♥
Now I cried when you left that day♥
You weren't here to lick my tears away♥
Time will heal, my heart will mend♥
Tho you are missed...my beloved friend♥
I have peace in knowing what lays in store♥
When I find myself at Heaven's door♥
My tears of joy shall fall that day♥
And you will lick my tears away♥

A SHEPHERD'S PRAYER♥♥♥
So do not grieve for me,
my friend As I am with my kind.♥
My collar is a rainbow's hue
My leash is a shooting star ♥
My boundaries are the milky way
Where I sparkle from afar. ♥
There are no pens or kennels here
For I am not confined ♥
But free to roam God's heavens
Among my shepherd kind.♥
I nap the day on a snowy cloud
And gentle breezes are rocking me ♥
I dream the dreams of earthling
And how it used to be.♥
The trees are full of liver treats
And tennis balls abound ♥
And milk bones line the walking ways
Just waiting to be found. ♥
There even is a ring set up
The grass all lush and green ♥
And everyone who gaits around
Becomes the "Best Of Breed". ♥
For we're all winners in this place
We have no faults you see ♥
And God passes out the ribbons
To each one--even me. ♥
I drink from waters laced with gold
My world a beauty to behold ♥
And wise old dogs do form my pride
To amble at my very side.♥
At night I sleep in an angel's arms
Her wings protecting me ♥
And moonbeams dance about us
As stardust falls on thee. ♥
So when your life on earth is spent
And you reach heaven's gate ♥
Have no fear of loneliness
For here, you know I wait. ♥

Pet Loss Poem By "The Animals You Love"
(Channeled by Pearl Kam)
Love bonds us all. Even when we think we are separate. Never be deluded with this lie. This lie that helps us experience each other as separate. Know that it is a trick that helps us play the game of life and death.
But we animals know better. That is why we are never afraid of death. We are also never afraid to live just as we are because we are not threatened by death.
We have come together with you on this journey to assist, to love, to learn, to teach and to share. We thank you for this opportunity. We cherish every moment of it and hope you did too. Now we are at the end of this chapter of our journey and we must go Home. A Home we share and have never truly left.
When you find this Home in you, you will find me there. Eternally with you and together. Separation doesn't exist. I will be Home waiting for you. Be brave and continue with your human journey, as it is important. We will always be together. I am only a breath away from you.
Don't be sad about my leaving, I am only going Home to relax before the next adventure. Everyone needs a holiday :) My life continues forever, you can be assured of that. I have done well for you. Now it is time for me to move on and learn new things.
Understand the circle of life, death and beyond and you will never have to miss me again.
We have never been apart in the first place.
With love, "The Animals you Love"
